Wadsworth Mansion at Long Hill Wedding | Danielle + Patrick | Middletown, CT

Updated: Mar 1, 2023

Wedding Date: August 6, 2022

Danielle and Patrick love to travel, but they met in their home state of Connecticut, a few years back. A special date at Lugano's restaurant in Greenwich, Connecticut was where they made their relationship official. Fast forward two years later, and Patrick surprised Danielle with a vacation to Lugano, Switzerland. It was there where Patrick proposed!! What a romantic surprise and meaningful proposal.

They envisioned a European/Italian romance look for their wedding day. So naturally they chose the beautiful Wadsworth Mansion for their wedding- which fit their vision perfectly.

Wadsworth Mansion at Long Hill is truly an elegant and timeless venue. With its stunning architecture and rich history in New England, it certainly brings a romantic yet sophisticated charm to a classy wedding.

Danielle and Patrick’s wedding day was on a bright summer August day in Middletown. Family and friends traveled from all over the world to celebrate with them, and everyone (my photography and videography team included) had a wonderful time!

It was such a pleasure to photograph and film this gorgeous Italian/European inspired Connecticut summer wedding at the Wadsworth Mansion, and I loved documenting their joyous memories.

Here are some highlights from the day:

Bride & Groom Details & Getting Ready Photos:

Their color palette was light pink, light green, and white.

The bride’s heels were beautifully custom designed by one of the bridesmaids, as she is a fashion designer. A cream strappy heel with beautiful pearls all over the shoe, has a cute bow on the front strap.

Danielle's getting ready moments were special to capture. She had such supportive bridesmaids, mothers, and wonderful females in her life. Her mothers helped her button her dress while taking in the emotional moment, and then the door opened and Danielle revealed her look to all her bridesmaids.

Meanwhile, Patrick had a great time playing poker downstairs in the bar with his groomsmen. My associate photographer had a great time capturing many candid photos.

One of my favorite moments of their day was their first touch... rather than a "first look," they opted for a "first touch," where they had a moment to hold hands and say hello to each other in private before the ceremony- yet without actually seeing each other. I also loved Danielle's first look with her father, as she walk down the stairs to greet him.

The Ceremony

Their summer wedding ceremony was on the perfectly manicured green lawn of Wadsworth Mansion. With rose petals framing the aisle, Danielle walked with her father to Patrick.

Their vows were out of a movie scene. Just watch the highlight film to see for yourself.

The Reception

To start off the reception, Danielle + Patrick made a grand entrance from the balcony and popped champagne. Then they had their first dance as husband and wife. The groom then had a dance with his mother and the bride with her father.

After dinner and cake cutting, the party really got started when everyone came outside to dance. It was so awesome to have dancing under the stars on a perfect summer evening- with the mansion lit up behind them.

Since both the bride and groom are coffee lovers, a coffee bar had to be a part of their day. If you are a coffee lover, that is definitely something to include for your wedding!! Cannoli's too of course.

Overall, this wedding was classic, romantic, and most of all- a very fun party!
